Athletic Bilbao with a very disappointing season … well below expectations in all competitions and were terrible in this group, but managed to get a shock win in Donetsk last round to get in pole position for the third place. Bilbao has 1 loss and 1 draw in the last two games and lost 1-0 at home to Cordoba in the weekend so their poor form continues despite a small resurgence at the end of November. For this game Bilbao misses Etxeita, Guillermo and Gurpegi … Aduriz is questionable but probably will be forced to start in such an important game.

BATE Borisov beat Athletic 2-1 in Belarus but it was their only achievement in the Champions League this season and have been a laughingstock in the other games … 0-7 and 0-5 vs. Shakhtar, 0-6 and 0-3 vs. Porto … and absolute disaster.
