🏀 Atlanta Hawks – Philadelphia 76ers ❌

The Sixers currently lead the series 2-1 after falling behind 0-1 early, and will attempt to claim full control of this Eastern Conference semifinal in Game 4 in Atlanta on Monday night.

Philly (1st seed) had some issues in Game 1. Coming after an easy win over the Wizards in the first round, the Sixers did not play well in that first meeting with Atlanta. Embiid was initially expected to miss out, eventually he played, but still the Sixers were just outplayed by the Hawks. They went back and forth with them early in Game 2, but from half time of that game they have been dominant. They won game 2 and crushed the Hawks in Game 3 in Atlanta, 127-111.

The Hawks (5th seed) have met and arguably surpassed expectations already. A young team, the Hawks beat up on the Knicks in Round 1, and after three games they are alive in a dogfight with Philly. However, Atlanta needs to find a way to recover after the spanking they were given in Game 3 a few nights ago.

Injury report: Danny Green went down for the Sixers after 4 minutes in Game 3 and will be out for the series. The Hawks continue to be without Reddish and Hunter.

The way this series is shaping up, I believe the Sixers win tonight and finish the job in Game 5 at home. It feels like Atlanta put up a fight for a game and a half, but is now simply being overpowered and outplayed by a superior team. Philly has been dominant for six consecutive quarters now and the Hawks just don’t seem to have any answers.

The Sixers are legit title contenders this season, Embiid is arguably the best player in the league, and they seem to have the Hawks figured out. The Hawks are young, inexperienced and they will have all the pressure on them tonight. It would be uncharacteristic for a savvy veteran team like Philly to let Atlanta back in the series.

I expect Embiid to dominate and I expect Philly’s exceptional defense to continue to suffocate Trae Young and run the Hawks of the three point line – or force them into bad shots.

The Sixers are not the best road team and that’s a minor concern, but they still have a positive record away from home and playing in Atlanta didn’t bother them one bit in Game 3.

My tip is Philly to win. The 3 point spread actually looks really good to me, but I became legit traumatized by losing good winning bets in garbage time over the years, so I’m sticking with the straight win. Prediction: Atlanta Hawks – Philadelphia 76ers 108 – 118.
