Bayern Munich hosts FC Porto in this Champions League quarterfinal second leg, after Porto got a surprise 3-1 win in Portugal.
The Bavarians played the price for having so many key players missing at Dragao …. and made a couple of horrendous defensive errors to hand Porto the 3-1 win. Bayern recovered to win comfortably 2-0 over the weekend vs. Hoffenheim, but unfortunately for them the team news do not get any better today … a bunch of key players will still be unavailable for the hosts including Robben, Martinez, Benatia or Alaba. Ribery and Schweinsteiger are questionable but it is unlikely they will be in the starting lineup. Even more, Lahm and Bernat are now questionable themselves … but they should start.

FC Porto now has 4 consecutive wins in all competitions. They did not play a great game over the weekend, but they rested many key players and still got an important 1-0 win over Academica … so they are still in with a chance to win the title over Benfica. Porto had an amazing run so far in 2015 with 13 wins in the last 16 matches … and are still undefeated in this season of Champions League, even though this is also because they had an easy group. Danilo and Sandro are out for today. Jackson Martinez and Tello are questionable.

Bayern has a tough task ahead of them, but with their quality and Champions League experience I think they will do the job and qualify … despite still having injuries to deal with. Home court advantage should be a key in this match, we know how hard it is for visiting teams at Allianz Arena and we say even the powerhouses of European football get blown out here. 13 out of Bayern 17 wins at home this season came by at least two goals … expect the hosts to start strong, play offensive football, cover the handicap and qualify. With all the respect that Porto deserves, my tip will be Bayern -1,5 handicap.

He`s not in the UCL squad, is he? My mistake. If he can`t play, maybe Pereira will be pulled back with Sandro and Danilo missing..
Bayern might win but won’t qualify. And, Porto will score this night, I have a feeling.
Clearly opinions will be split on this one, which is also reflected by the odds. Personally I reckon that Porto will be humbled in Germany. Bayern is a different animal at home and Porto’s suspended players in defense will count a lot. Anyway, should be a good game.
