Europa League Round 16 match and we have Frankfurt playing host to Salzburg.
Frankfurt in general are having a bad season so far, they are currently sitting mid-table in the league whilst they scrapped qualifications in the group stages. During those period the team went on a run of 7 losses in 8 games but in the last couple of weeks the results have improved massively, Frankfurt have only lost away at Dortmund in their last 6 matches and that includes victories against Leipzig twice.
I like Salzburg as a free attacking team, they score a lot and of course concede a lot also but I don't trust them winning a match. Salzburg played really well in the champions league but as expected they were not gonna qualify in a group featuring Liverpool and Napoli.
Not making the knockout stages of the champions league isn't really the issue but they lost 2 important players who make up for 2/3 of the goals they have scored in Europe.
As a team who goes full attack they are easy to score against but not having enough attacking threat themselves will cost them a lot for the remainder of the season, this was evident in their match against LASK Linz where they just couldn't keep the opponent out.
I believe Frankfurt has to take the advantage here, they can't afford not to win this match cos Salzburg plays a lot better at their own ground.
