This is a round of 16 match from the Rome tournament(clay) between Irina Begu from Romania and Viktoria Azarenka from Belarus.
They have met 4 times and Azarenka has managed to win all those meetings. That being said those meetings where all in a period where Azarenka was at the top of her game. She has had problems with injuries and she is trying to build and get her game back to the level it once was but at the moment I believe she is not there.
Begu has been playing very well here in Rome and managed good wins against Urszula Radwanska 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 and Angelique Kerber 6-3, 6-3. The win against Kerber was very impressive especially considering she was facing a player that has had a very good year on clay this year.
Azarenka defeated Lucie Hradecka 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 and Caroline Wozniacki 6-2, 7-6(2). She did look very shaky in her second set against Wozniacki especially on her service so I think there could be a problem in that department.
Begu is a pretty solid player and from how well she played in the previous match against Kerber I am inclined to give her a go in this match because I believe she does have the necessary game to defeated Vika.
