This is a quarterfinal match from the Antalya 12 ITF tournament between Caroline Romeo from France and Alyona Sotnikova from Ukraine.
This will be the first time they play each other.
I am going to go with Caroline Romeo here because I think she will be in a better physical form than her opponent. Sotnikova played a lot of matches last week when she won the Antalya 11 ITF and she did struggle in her first round match against Paigina which she won 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. She did get a very easy win in the second round against Stolmar but she was facing a very weak opponent so that's no surprise to me.
Caroline Romeo has played very well here and defeated Marina Kachar 6-4, 6-3 and Kamila Kerimbayeva 6-4, 6-3. Something that need to be mentioned is that last year also at the Antalya 12 ITF she made it to the semifinal stage so it seems she is doing well here.
I think in terms of power Sotnikova does have the advantage but considering I don't think she is in such a good condition I don't know if she will be able to move very well in order to use that power advantage. Romeo is very good at covering the court and can generate very good countershots and in these conditions and considering she is hugely undervalued I am going with her today.
