Borussia Dortmund will play host to Wolfsburg in the DFB Pokal semifinals, Tuesday 15 April. This is a single legged tie hosted by Borussia.
After winning the Supercup against Bayern in 2013, the German Cup is Dortmund’s last chance for silverware this season. The Champions League is gone, Bundesliga is gone and a top 3 spot is guaranteed, so nothing else left for Borussia aside for the DFB Pokal. The home team struggled with injuries big-time in the last few months and is still missing a lot of players, but the last two games from Dortmund were simply brilliant, despite these circumstances. Borussia will miss again a bunch of players especially on the defensive end but they will field roughly the same team that defeated Real Madrid and Bayern Munchen.

Wolfsburg is having a pretty good season, 5th place in the league, they can attack the 4th place which goes to Champions League (1 point behind Leverkusen). The traveling team is in very good form with 3 wins in the last 4 games and losing only to today`s opponents two matches ago – a 1-2 defeat at Signal Iduna Park. Rodriguez is suspended for Wolfsburg.

10 days ago Dortmund beat Wolfsburg 2-1 and I think Borussia will get another win. The level of play from Klopp’s men was amazing in the last two games and since the Cup is now priority number 1, expect Dortmund to come out guns blazing tonight and a great atmosphere in the stands. Wolfsburg will play their cards, but at the end of the day the visitors would rather catch that last Champions League place in Bundesliga than advance to the cup final. Seeing that Dortmund beat Wolfsburg in much harder circumstances a few days ago, I think they can get an even easier win here. If Borussia will play close to the level in the last 2 matches, I reckon it will be a 2-0 or 3-0 result here without any problems – even though Wolfsburg is a good team.
My tip will be Dortmund -1,5 handicap, a slight risk I admit, but Borussia can cover this handicap against anyone on their day and they don’t back down of winning big, so it’s worth it at these kind of odds. Correct score prediction: Borussia Dortmund – VFL Wolfsburg 3-1.
