Celtics – Cavaliers

Cavs Celtics Game 7 Lebron James celebration

The Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers will square off with a place in the NBA finals on the line, as the two teams meet on Sunday night in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals, in Boston.

The Cavs faced elimination two nights ago in Game 6, being down 2-3 in the series, and they seemed in trouble when Kevin Love went down early in the game. However, Lebron James was absolutely magnificent and carried his team towards a rather comfortable 10 point victory. It wasn`t always pretty, but Lebron’s 46 points were enough to keep Boston at bay. However, the Cavs will face a much more difficult task this Sunday in Boston.

The Celtics have not lost at home in these playoffs, winning 10 out of 10, so that will surely give them a lot of confidence coming into this Game 7. The Celtics have dominated their three home games in this meeting, winning by 25, 13 and 13. Nevertheless, facing Lebron James in an elimination game will be a dangerous proposition, especially for such a young and inexperienced team.

Team news: The big news is that Kevin Love will not play for the Cavs in Game 7. The Celtics have the same old injury issues (Irving, Hayward, Theis and Larkin). Backup PG Larkin has a small shot to play, but he likely won`t.

Lebron James will have to take over this game right from the start for the Cavs, much like he did in his 46 point Game 6 performance. Cleveland’s role players are just not up to the task, and they have been dreadful on the road, so Lebron will have to do it by himself.

Kevin Love`s absence will put even more of the load on Lebron’s shoulders, so it`s not unfathomable to expect 40 shot attempts or so from James in a deciding game in which he will not have his second option (Love) on the floor.

As history has proven, Lebron is always up for the task in these deciding games, so it`s only logical to back him to surpass the points total line the bookies have set for him.

Look for James to be aggressive from the start, play 46 minutes or so (maybe even the entire game if it`s not a blowout) and take well over 30 shot attempts. My tip is Lebron James to score over 36.5 points, he should have over 40 in this one. Not all bookies have put up odds for this bet so far, so you might want to check before betting to see if you can get a better line. But the line at 10Bet looks nice at 36.5. Prediction: Boston Celtics – Cleveland Cavaliers 104 – 102.

Pick: Lebron James over 36,5 points
Odds: 1.80 @ 10Bet
Stake: 7
Possible profit: 5.60
Event date: 28 May
