Widely considered to be the worst team in Bundesliga prior to the season kick-off, Braunschweig hasn`t done much to silent the critics. The home team is on the last place in the league with a 7-23 goal difference. They haven`t been able to get any advantage by playing at home: they have just 1 point in 4 home games. Braunschweig`s form is naturally very poor, with 4 losses in the last 5 Bundesliga games, including losing the last two against Schalke and Mainz.
The hosts have a poor squad and find it very hard to compete in a Bundesliga which is stacked with quality this year. They did have a few good moments, like losing 1-2 at Dortmund or beating Wolfsburg 2-0 on the road, even in the last game (0-2 at Mainz), but those moments were short lived. I expect the hosts to improve a little bit as weeks go by, but realistically it`s hard to see Braunschweig getting out of this slump and chances are that they will finish last in the league at the end of the season – maybe / probably even by a big margin. Braunschweig will have a colossal task ahead of them today, facing a great team in great form, and their job will not be made easier by the fact that they will miss 4 players: Hochscheidt, Petkovic, Correia and possibly Bellarabi (about 50-50 chances to play / not play).
Braunschweig lineup: Davari – Elabdellaoui, Dogan, Bicakcic, Reichel – Caligiuri, Theuerkauf, Perthel – Boland, Bellarabi – Kumbela

Leverkusen lost three important players before the season started (Carvajal, Schurrle, Kadlec), but they did not decrease their level, they are playing even better than last season. This is a team that relies on chemistry and playing relations. They are very well organized, and the results are proof of that: 3rd place, tied with Dortmund (before this round), 1 point below Bayern. The visitors are in fantastic form with 7 wins and 1 draw in the last 8 rounds (all competitions), and the draw was against Bayern Munchen. Overall, Bayer has 13 victories in the last 15 Bundesliga matches. Last time out, Leverkusen defeated Augsburg 2-1 at home. Leverkusen can choose from a full squad today except not so important Stafylidis and Reinartz – they are both out. They will welcome back vice-captain Bender in the starting lineup.
Leverkusen lineup: Leno – Donati, Toprak, Spahic, Boenisch – Bender, Rolfes, Can – Sam, Kiessling, Heung-Min
Leverkusen is working like a well oiled machine and they are one of the teams that barely makes ugly surprises against weaker opposition. Sam and Kiessling are playing amazing up-front and with Bender back, Leverkusen gains a lot of extra vision and strength in the midfield. Braunschweig clearly looks out of place in the Bundesliga and home court is not a real advantage for them. They will try to defend in numbers but Bayer has too many attacking options for that approach to work. I see Leverkusen imposing their superiority and getting 3 very important points without much stress. I do not expect a blowout, but a nice, secure win for the visitors. -1 Asian Handicap seems the best bet for this match. I am going with maximum stakes as I see a 1 goal win (money back) as a worst case scenario, but I think Leverkusen will want to take a 2 or more goal lead and make things easy for themselves in the last minutes. Surprises of course can always happen, but my personal pick for today is Eintracht Braunschweig – Bayer Leverkusen 0-2 with high confidence.
