FC Chikhura Sachkhere from Georgia will host Zimbru Chisinau in the second leg of this Europa League 1st qualifying round clash, after Chikhura won 1-0 in Moldavia last week.
The Georgians are in a good position to qualify after their 1-0 road win, a victory they deserved and which suggested they are a better side that Zimbru (which was the consensus before the tie started as well). Chikhura is a decent side, they finished 4th last year in Georgia and had a remarkable European campaign two years ago, when they knocked out Turnovo and Bursaspor (!!) before falling 2-3 aggregate to the strong Neftchi Baku.
Zimbru looked pretty bad in the first leg and they might not look better today. They finished third last season in Moldova, more than 15 points behind the second place. They brought in Flavius Stoican as manager this season and I can definitely say, from his time at my Dinamo Bucharest, he is a horrible, horrible manager. He has a very cautious approach, as seen in the 1st leg and doesn`t really know how to set up on offense. He`ll likely be gone pretty soon.

Chikhura was clearly the better team in the first leg and deserved their win. Indeed, they had an extra man on the pitch between the 36th and 62nd minutes and they scored the only goal of the match during those minutes – but even after they were reduced to 10 men themselves, they still kept Zimbru in check, which was an impressive thing to do away from home.
Georgian football is slowly improving at club level, the National setup is giving more chances to young domestic players and this Chikhura side (composed almost exlusively of Goergian players) seems to be much better organized and disciplined that Zimbru, a side with some low level foreign players, new signings and a foreign manager that doesn`t have much of a clue.
Neither team has played competitive football (aside of the first leg) since mid May, so nobody holds an advantage in this department. I believe Chikhura has enough to win another low scoring game and qualify for the next stage. I will bet on a home win, but I won`t push the stakes too much, as there is always more risk involved at this low level of football.
My tip is Chikhura to win, despite not needing the three points to qualify. They are the better side and clearly proved it in the first leg. Prediction: Chikhura – Zimbru Chisinau 1-0.
