Nuggets – Lakers

Nuggets Lakers prediction

The Nuggets will take on the Lakers on Tuesday night in Denver.

The Nuggets (13-7, 8-3 home) had a solid season so far, and they are currently third in the Western Conference – a position they have chances to maintain. Denver had a small blip in form a couple of weeks ago, losing some games, but they got over it quickly and have now won three in a row. Last time out they took on the Thunder on Saturday and claimed a very impressive road win against the in form OKC.

The Lakers (11-8, 5-4 away) struggled in the beginning of the season, but that was somewhat expected for a new look team. Now Lebron`s Lakers are looking better and they actually won 9 of their last 12 games. However, it has to be said that LA had an easy schedule, and they are also on the back of a disappointing home loss against the Orlando Magic on Sunday night.

Team news: The Nuggets have Gary Harris questionable, but he said he expects to play. They also continue to miss Marton, Thomas and Porter Jr, but they have been out since the start of the year. The Lakers will be without Rajon Rondo and there were also questions about Lebron, who missed training Monday, but he will play.

LA has been racking up the victories recently, and winning 9 out of 12 games certainly looks impressive. To a certain extent it is, but it must be said that only two (!!) of those wins came against teams with winning records. In fact, both were against the Blazers, against whom the Lakers seem to match up well.

Winning in Denver will be a totally different proposition, as this will be the toughest game the Lakers had in quite a while.

The Nuggets are the real deal this season, they are in great form with three wins in a row (the last two being particularly impressive) and they are rested, as they haven`t played since Saturday.

Of course, Denver also has the best home court advantage in the league due to playing at high altitude (over 1.500 meters).

Look for the Nuggets to come out firing with their home court advantage and 3 nights of rest, and they should have enough to take care of the Lakers here. The Lakers are the second worst ATS (against the spread) team in the NBA this season, which speaks volumes about how much they are overrated after Lebron`s arrival.

All that being said, my tip here will be Denver to cover the 3 point (asian) handicap. Prediction: Denver Nuggets – Los Angeles Lakers 117 – 105.
