Pistons – Cavaliers

Pistons Cavs NBA prediction

The Pistons will attempt to win their 4th straight game when they meet the winless Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night in Detroit.

The Pistons (3-0, 2-0 home) have won their first three games in the new seasons and the teem is looking pretty sharp. The hosts have reasons to believe they will make the playoffs this year, and there is a lot of optimism around the team after the good start. However, it must not be forgotten that all three wins were nailbiters, and the Pistons are definitely a bit lucky to be 3-0. They won by 2 points against the Nets and the Bulls, and by one point against the Sixers a couple of nights ago.

The Cavaliers (0-4, 0-2 away) have been an absolute disaster so far this year. Not only did they lose 4 out of 4, but they did it in a very ugly way, by an average margin of 14.5 points – by far the worst point differential of any team in the NBA so far this season. In the last two matches they lost by 22 and by 16 against two below average teams in the form of the Hawks and the Nets.

Team news: There are no injuries or suspensions to report, as both teams have a clean bill of health.

As it is the case with every team Lebron James leaves, the Cavs have disintegrated this year. The dominating presence of Lebron, his quality, and the fact that the entire gameplan of any team he plays for always revolves around him, makes him leave disaster and chaos in his wake each time he leaves a franchise.

The Cavs are definitely playing the worst basketball in the NBA right now, and this will probably be a long season for them.

Detroit is playing pretty good basketball, and even though they are fortunate to have won 3 out of 3, those close wins are also great confidence builders.

The Pistons definitely look like massive favorites here against this wretched Cavs team, and when you add the fact that Cleveland is back to back on the road, a bet on Detroit makes even more sense.

The Pistons have played very close games so far this year, but this time they should be able to win in double digits. The Cavs lost all games this season by more than 7 points, and there`s no reason to expect any different tonight.

My tip will be Detroit to cover the -7 (asian) handicap and it must be said that at the moment the line seems to be moving towards 7.5 points. Prediction: Detroit Pistons – Cleveland Cavaliers 119 – 105.
