Dinamo – Otelul

Dinamo Bucharest Otelul Galati betting previewImportant match for both teams at the Stefan Cel Mare stadium in Bucharest, with Dinamo striving to move up to the last european spot while Otelul is in a dogfight for avoiding relegation.

Dinamo (5th place) changed ownership last summer and is in rebuilding mode this season, but they still have a decent squad for romanian standards. After a very poor start to the season Dinamo brought in Flavius Stoican as the manager and things went uphill from there, with a great finish to 2013 for Dinamo. In 2014 the team was a little shaky so far, alternating good performances with bad ones, and the last two matches are very relevant: a horrible 5-2 defeat to arch rivals Steaua in the Cup semifinals, followed by a 2-2 draw on the road against the 2nd or 3rd best team in Romania, Petrolul, a match that Dinamo deserved to win, no question about that. With a win today Dinamo would move back to the 4th spot in the standings, which is their goal for the season – it`s the last european spot.

Otelul is currently 2 points clear of relegation and would love to extend that advantage by getting at least a point today. The visitors, however, are having serious financial troubles, the players are not happy at all (wanted to boycott trainings last week, but eventually were payed a part of their salaries) and the team is on the verge of bankruptcy. Even so, Otelul managed to get an important win at home last round against Chiajna and also played well 2 rounds ago, drawing with the 2nd placed Astra Giurgiu, so the visitors are in pretty good form.

Team news & lineups

Dinamo will continue to miss key players Matei and Thicot, while backup midfielder Munteanu is also out. Manager Flavius Stoican is suspended. Otelul will probably field the same first 11 like they did in the last round.

Dinamo: Naumovski – Rus, Popa, Grigore, Filip – Lazar, Elton, Boubacar, Rotariu – Tucudean, Bilinski

Otelul: Goicoechea – Miselaricu, Sirghi, Prestia, Milea – Cooper, Giurgiu, Lovin, Zaharia – Tudorie, Astafei.

I think Dinamo to win this one at home is the best bet here and the odds are higher than they should be in my opinion. The Red Dogs are the better team and are hungry for a win after the last two games, they also played great last week against Petrolul. Otelul might be in good form lately but it won`t last forever and the financial problems they have will also have an impact. Lastly, we are talking about one of the best home teams in Romania (Dinamo, 8-2-3) against one of the worst road teams (Otelul, 2-2-8), so home court advantage should also make a difference here. Otelul did not defeat Dinamo in 4 years and previously this season the Red Dogs won 2-1 on the road against the Galati side. My tip is Dinamo to win. Prediction: Dinamo Bucharest – Otelul Galati 2-1. As always I feel that it is my duty to inform you that I am a Dinamo Bucharest fan, so you have all the info to make your own decision about this bet – even though I know I`m objective, that`s for you to decide.
