Odd is not doing well right now – they won just their 3rd game from the last 14 in Tippeligaen over the weekend, 3-2 against Tromso via a last second goal – and it was the first win in 5 matches for Odd as well. On the bright side they had an easy time dispatching Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League second qualifying round, winning both legs, 2-0 and 2-1.
I reckon Elfsborg should be able to win this at home. Odd has improved in the last few weeks, but they are still not in too good form – two wins with Shamrock Rovers and the last second victory with Tromso are not exactly relevant results. Elfsborg is playing good football and they have done it since the start of the season. They have better quality, are more consistent and have home court advantage, which is very important. Elfsborg is always strong at home and this season they are yet to lose on their own stadium – actually their last home loss was in October 2014!
My tip is Elfsborg to win. For what is worth these two sides played a friendly in March with Odd winning 3-0, but obviously it`s hard to put any weight on the result of a football friendly played many months ago. Prediction: Elfsborg – Odd 2-1.
