Espanyol Barcelona and Deportivo La Coruna will kick off Primera Division football in 2017, with the hosts considered 2.10 odds favorites by the bookies.
Espanyol did not end 2016 on a high, losing 1-4 to rivals Barcelona and getting knocked out of Copa Del Rey by lowly Alcoron via penalties. Nevertheless, Espanyol did have a good first part of the season, sitting on the 9th place in La Liga. The results of the investments made in the summer started to show in October and November, when Espanyol went trough a 10 game unbeaten run in all competitions.
La Coruna is sitting just 4 points above the relegation zone, but they did have a (very) good end to 2016, winning 3 of their last 5 games and only losing to Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu via a last minute goal. Depor will try to replicate that form at the start of this year, because if they revert to playing like they did for most of the early season, they might have problems with relegation. Interestingly, Depor has not won a game on the road this season.

Diego Lopez and Leo Baptistao are out for Espanyol, while Sanchez and Lopez are doubtful. La Coruna will miss Gil, while Laure is doubtful. The visitors also lost Ryan Babel to Besiktas.
Espanyol: Roberto – Sanchez, Lopez, Reyes, Caricol – Perez, Jurado, Fuego, Piatti – Caicedo, Moreno
Deportivo La Coruna: Tyton – Juanfran, Albentosa, Sidnei, Navarro – Guilherme, Borges – Gama, Colak, Moreno – Andone
With the squad Espanyol has, they should try to attack an Europa League spot in this second part of the season – especially since all their new pieces started clicking in the last few months, even if they were poor in the last two games of 2016.
With a better roster and playing at home against a horrible away team (Deportivo is 0-3-5 on the road), Espanyol deserves to be a favorite. However, the hosts struggle offensively and are very prone to draws – recording 7 of them in 16 rounds. They also miss two crucial players in Lopez and Baptistao. Add Deportivo’s good form at the end of 2016 and this looks like a tough game for Espanyol.
The hosts do have the first chance to claim the three points and it`s very hard to believe Deportivo will claim it`s first road win of the season in this game, but I think the draw is as likely to happen as an Espanyol victory. I will chose to bet on the draw here, with security in case of a home win.
All this being said, my tip on this encounter will be a draw on the Espanyol win no bet market. Prediction: Espanyol – Deportivo La Coruna 1-1.
Pick: Draw – Espanyol win no bet
Odds: 1.75 @ Bwin

Most of your games have been failing of late and i don’t see you making any improvement to limit the failure. would get back to your drawing board anand put down a winning strategy.
That makes no sense. I won 7 out of my last 8 previews (only lost a draw with small stakes) and you re saying most of my games have been failing? What the hell, man?
