League leaders FCSB will take on Concordia Chiajna in the 17th round of the Romanian Liga 1.
After a rather unconvincing start to the season, FCSB have found their rhythm in the last couple of months and are currently pumping on all cylinders. The hosts qualified to the Europa League knockout stages on Thursday after a 1-1 home draw against Beer Scheva, FCSB’s 10 point out of a possible 12 in that group. FCSB will miss Benzar, Budescu and Larie, the first two being key players. The lineup will be rotated a bit, but a very strong first XV is expected, as FCSB has plenty of depth and doesn`t have a standard starting lineup. Chiajna will miss Gradinaru.

The hosts are definitely a few classes above Chiajna in terms of quality and they are in brilliant form, blowing everybody off the court in Romania. At the same time, their opponents today are going through a slump and it appears as they will have to battle relegation yet again. Looking at these two sides right now, it`s pretty hard to see an upset happening.

One theoretical danger for FCSB is the fact that they played Europa League football on Thursday, and sometimes that can create a hangover effect. However, it`s highly doubtful that will happen. First of all it was a home game, so FCSB didn`t have to travel, and secondly they rotated the squad a bit in that match – there will be a few fresh players coming in today without really weakening the starting lineup much (if at all).
FCSB is scoring for fun right now so covering a 1 goal handicap shouldn`t be such a difficult task for them against rather poor opposition.
