Serie A football this Sunday, with Fiorentina hosting Palermo after La Viola lost to lowly Parma last round.
Fiorentina have big problems for this game. Both their central defenders, Savic and Gonzalo are suspended following red cards in their last game. They have one other defender, Basanta, that completed their back 3 line, but he is not near the level of the two missing. Fiorentina’s best strength is their midfield, very creative. Their attack is awful, with goals coming from every player except Mario Gomez (who should be the one scoring, he even missed a penalty vs Parma). Their defense is solid if they have the entire 3 (Basanta, Gonzalo, Savic) but with 2/3 missing, I don’t see them well in this game.

Palermo have an excellent season so far, managing good results and scoring freely; great attacking football played by the Sicilians. In their last game they won 5-0 vs Cagliari, although it should be noted that at 2-0 Cagliari got a red card (deserved). Palermo’s attack is brilliant with 2 argentinians Dybala (9 goals) and Vazquez (5 goals) in top form. Also substitute striker Andrea Belotti is also in good form (with 3 goals) and Rigoni with 4. Palermo will have all these players available against Fiorentina. If results go their way and Palermo manage to win they will move into the top 5 teams, with direct access to Europa League, which would be a great achievement.
According to Gazzeta dello Sport Fiorentina will start with a back 3 made up of Basanta, Tomovic and Marcos Alonso. It looks very weak to me so my bet will be in favor of the visitors. Palermo to score is my prediction and the best odds are at William Hill @ 1.57 for this particular bet. Good luck!
