France – Jamaica

France Jamaica betting previewThis will be the last friendly game for France before traveling to Brazil and they will meet at home, in Lille, a team which scored some upsets and decent results lately.

How quickly things change in football. The hosts were on a roll, confident and playing good football, but France suffered a big blow a couple of days ago when Franck Ribery was ruled out of the World Cup-  news that came after an unconvincing performance in a 1-1 draw with Paraguay. Right now things are not looking too good for Les Bleus. Prior to the Paraguay draw France had 3 consecutive wins against Ukraine, Netherlands and Norway with an aggregate score of 9-0 and it remains to be seen if the hosts will be able to overcome the recent adversity and regain that previous level of form.

Jamaica was a team that only beat St. Lucia and Barbados before embarking to this May-June friendly tour and they had little hope of keeping games close consider the caliber of opposition they were about to face. However, the last few weeks were great for Jamaica, as they narrowly lost to Serbia (2-1) and Switzerland (1-0) before a 2-2 draw with Egypt. Jamaica has little to no quality in the squad, which could be seen in their last place finish in the Central American World Cup qualies (5 points in 10 matches), but their recent results are a whole different story.

Team news & lineups

France will field a very strong lineup today, while Jamaica will mostly use the same players as in their last few friendlies.

France: Lloris – Debuchy, Varane, Mangala, Evra – Cabaye, Matuidi – Valbuena, Pogba, Griezmann – Benzema

Jamaica: Blake – Doyley, Mariappa, Morgan, Lawrence – Austin, Grant, Campbell, Humphrey – Dawkins, Seaton

Jamaica is in good form but the bad part of it is that France are sure to take them seriously. I don`t think the visitors will be able to resist a hurt animal like France and I reckon the Jamaicans will be a little tired as well after 3 tough matches against solid opposition. France has played great football over the last months and I think they have what it takes to at least cover a 1 goal handicap, even if this is just a friendly. Home court advantage should also count a lot against a Central American team. My tip is France to win with -1,5 handicap. The odds are dropping on the bet. Prediction: France – Jamaica 3-0.

Pick: France (-1,5)
