Garbine Muguruza Blanco and Angelique Kerber will square off in the second round of the White Group at the WTA finals in Singapore, after both players won their opening matches pretty comfortably in straight sets.
Muguruza is definitely one of the most in form players right now on the WTA tour, if not the main player to beat. In the last two tournaments Garbine reached the final at Wuhan, where she had to retire and won next weak at Beijing. In those two weeks she beat players like Ivanovic, Radwanska or even today`s opponent, Kerber – often playing excellent tennis. She confirmed the good form with a 6-3 7-6 win over Safarova in the first round robin match here at Singapore. Her serve works great and she has an excellent balance between offense and defense, avoiding the errors which cost her matches in the past.
Angelique Kerber is in good form herself, fresh off a final appearance at Hong Kong (lost to Jankovic) and coming after a solid performance against Kvitova a couple of days ago, winning in straight sets, 6-2 7-6. However, unlike Muguruza, it`s hard to say that she is at the top of her game. She lost to Jankovic, Radwanska (badly) and Muguruza lately in the Asian swing.

The Head 2 Head is 3-3 (2-2 on hard), but Muguruza won the last three meetings, all of them this year – including a 6-4 7-6 victory less than one month ago in Wuhan. Kerber is having obvious problems coping with Muguruza this season and that might be in the back of her mind coming into this match.
Both players and in fine form and looking at the way Safarova and Kvitova are struggling lately, this match seems to be the decider for the first place in the group. The bookies started with more or less equal odds but the big money are coming on Muguruza and I am not surprised at all.
Garbine is simply playing better tennis right now, she`s brimming with confidence and has won 10 matches on the spin if we exclude the retirement in the Wuhan final. She also have the serve to help her escape difficult situation if they will arise. The superior game of Muguruza is also visible in excellent recent Head 2 Head record against Kerber, including that 2 set win just three weeks ago in similar playing conditions. In Beijing, Radwanska ruined Kerber in the quarters, only to get beaten by Muguruza in the semis. Plenty of signs indicating the superiority of the Spanish player, but nothing beats the eye test – and looking at these two playing, you know that Muguruza has the edge.
Kerber just doesn`t seem to have enough right now to beat this version of Garbine, so my tip here is Muguruza to win. Pretty confident about this one, so I will invest a 9 unit stake. Odds are going down. Prediction: Garbine Muguruza – Angelique Kerber 6-4 5-7 6-2.

Over is my choice here! Good luck! 🙂
I think the over looks good as well, Kerber might snatch a set, there`s a chance even a 2-0 for Muguruza could cover the over line. But all in all I wouldn`t bet against a convincing Muguruza win, so no over for me.
Congrats!
Did you bet on the over after all? A bit unlucky, either set could have gone to a tiebreak.
