Genoa is a very interesting team, i wrote about it in the past … some reasons for it. Genoa’s coach, Gasperini has used the most formations out of all Serie A sides. They are giant killers, they play very well against big teams but very openly, offensively against poor teams. They won 4-2 at Udinese, made a 3-3 with Sassuolo but were able to win Milan and Juve 1-0. This says a lot about their game.
They also narrowly lost to Roma 0-1. I think the major problem here is the missings of Antonelli and Bertolacci. Bertollaci is a midfielder you don’t notice very often, but recently he was in good form, even scoring in the last game, vs Napoli (lost 1-2).

Fiorentina … what can i say about Fiorentina … they play beautiful football, no defense, all attack, 3 man defense, but even 2 of those 3 defenders usually go up. Savic and Gonzaol have at least 2 goals scored each of them. Gomez is crap but that does not matter because the rest of the 9 field players run and feed him with so many balls that eventually even Super Mario manages to score … All in all i think Fiorentina is not able to dictate the rhythm of play, and that will be very bad for them here. They will settle in Genoa’s half, playing their endless possession football, but in the end, Genoa will score with a set piece of a counter-attack and Montella will find another excuse at the press conference.
The odds are very generous with us so i will settle for Genoa +0.5 asian handicap for the usual stake on my bets, 8 units.
