Golden State Warriors will play their first match in four days when they host the Chicago Bulls at Oracle Arena on Wednesday night / Thursday morning (European time).

Golden State (43-8, 22-3 home) suffered a rare loss in their previous game on Saturday, when they lost in overtime at Sacramento after winning 5 in a row and 12 of their last 13. Bad nights from Green and Durant, along with Thompson shooting horribly in the 4th quarter and overtime, allowed Kings to escape with that win – but the Warriors will surely be confident of bouncing back at home against Chicago.

The Bulls (26-26, 11-15 away) were playing dirt poor in January and the locker room exploded with teammates taking shots at eachother. However, surprisingly, the Bulls managed to get themselves together and they played 4 solid games in a row – winning 3 of them and losing in OT to Houston on the road. It is an impressive streak, with the last 3 games being played on the road, but Chicago is still far from being trustworthy and their inconsistency is expected to come back and bite them. A trip at Oracle Arena seems like the place that will happen.

Team news: Klay Thompson (GS) and Jimmy Butler (CHI) are both questionable, but they are both expected to play.

The Warriors are well known for bouncing back in style after a loss and they have not lost two games in a row in the regular season since 2015 – that`s 137 consecutive games. This season they have won by an average of 12.3 points following a loss and that included many games against stronger teams than Chicago.

The Bulls they seem to match up very poorly against the Warriors. Chicago has one of the worst shooting backcourts in the league and that`s a killer when you meet an offensive juggernaut like Golden State. Chicago often has long stretches in which they struggle to find shots and that is a terrifying prospect when you think that Golden State can put 15 points on you in 2 minutes or even less.

The Bulls have no chance of matching the scoring power of Golden State, especially since the Warriors will be extra focused after their recent loss in Sacramento, which means they will be up defensively. If Chicago can`t score at the same pace, the Bulls need to defend extra well, but they are no more than a decent defensive team – not enough to keep guys like Curry, Thompson and Durant at bay. Durant had one of the worst games in his career last time out with only 10 points, so expect him to pour 30 or so on the Bulls.

Botom line There are four big factors here that make me believe Golden State will win this comfortably.

Firstly, of course, is the quality difference between these two teams. Secondly, it`s the fact that Golden State is well rested and ready to go. The third thing would be the fact that they always bounce back in convincing fashion after a loss and, finally, Chicago’s style of play is horribly suited to take on Golden State.

Circumstances are all in Golden State`s favor and I can say there were not many matches this season in which they were as likely to cover the spread as they are in this one. That`s no guarantee, but I feel confident in backing the Warriors with reasonably high stakes.

There exists the the uncertainty about the fitness of Thompson and Butler, but both should play and Chicago would miss Butler more than Golden State would miss Klay Thompson. Prediction: Golden State Warriors – Chicago Bulls 125 – 100.
