Harlequins – Worcester

Harlequins Worcester Aviva Premiership Round 7 bet

Harlequins will host Worcester Warriors at Twickenham Stoop in Round 7 of the Aviva Premiership.

The Quins have had a pretty standard season so far, sitting on the 7th place in a good position to attack a Top 6 spot which guarantees qualification for the Champions Cup. The hosts have 3 wins and 3 losses and have played good rugby, particularly at home – as it is usually the case with them. In the past two weeks Harlequins have played in the Champions Cup and didn`t have any success there, losing both matches against La Rochele (by 7, played very well) and against Wasps (by 31, horrible showing but a few key guys didn`t play).

Worcester is dead last in the Aviva Premiership and this season has been a complete disaster, with the visitors losing all matches by an average of 19.2 points per game, claiming just one defensive bonus point. The poor results aren`t such a big surprise though, as Worcester is the weakest team in the league and escaped relegation last season only because Bristol was one of the worst sides the Premiership has ever seen – thus finishing below Worcester. The visitors competed in the Challenge Cup over the past two weeks, beating Brive (last placed team in France) and losing to Connacht.

Team news & lineups:

Harlequins are getting a couple of key players back from injury and will make a total of 6 changes to the lineup that was humbled last week at Wasps. The Warriors continued to be battered by injuries, so they won`t be any stronger than they were in the previous matches they played this season.

Harlequins: 1. Mark Lambert, 2. Elia Elia, 3. Will Collier, 4. Ben Glynn, 5. James Horwill (C), 6. James Chisholm, 7. Chris Robshaw, 8. Mat Luamanu, 9. Danny Care, 10. Marcus Smith, 11. Tim Visser, 12. Jamie Roberts, 13. Alofa Alofa, 14. Charlie Walker, 15. Mike Brown

Worcester Warriors: 1. Ethan Waller, 2. Joe Taufete’e, 3. Gareth Milasinovich, 4. Donncha O’Callaghan (C), 5. Will Spencer, 6. Alafoti Faosiliva, 7. Sam Lewis, 8. David Denton, 9. Jonny Arr, 10. Jono Lance, 11. Josh Adams, 12. Jackson Willison, 13. Wynand Olivier, 14. Perry Humphreys, 15. Chris Pennell

Harlequins will be excited to get back to Aviva Premiership action after the somewhat expected disappointment suffered in the Champions Cup, where the level might be just a bit too high for them. Facing a team like Worcester at home is surely the perfect opportunity for the Quins to get back on track.

Harlequins is a force to be reckoned with at home, where they finished with 9 wins and 2 losses last season – the third best record in the league. Even the biggest clubs in Europe always had difficulties getting wins at Twickenham Stoop. At the same time, Worcester hasn`t won an away game in the Premiership since early 2016 (!!), and lost all 11 away games last season.

You have to feel that Quins` expansive brand of rugby and potent offense will be enough to earn them a comfortable win at home against a Worcester side which is getting blown out by everybody this season in the Premiership.

The Harlequins lineup for this game is looking really strong and my tip here will be the Quins to cover the 11.5 handicap. Last season they won the home meeting against Worcester by 22 points and there`s no reason to expect a much different result this time around. The point spread line is currently moving towards 12.5. Prediction: Harlequins – Worcester Warriors 36 – 18.
