Huddersfield – Everton

Huddersfield Everton betting preview

Huddersfield will look to make a giant step towards securing Premier League safety, as they will attempt a win over Everton on Saturday at the Kirklees Stadium.

Huddersfield is currently 6 points ahead of the red zone, and a win in this match would be a huge step towards avoiding relegation in their first season back in the top flight since 1972. The hosts didn`t have the best of times in March and early April, as they claimed just 2 points in 5 Premier League games, but they got back on track in their last game. Huddersfield beat Warford 1-0 and will look to back up that victory with another one over Everton here.

The Toffees are currently 8th in the standings and it is pretty much determined that they will finish as high as 8th and as low as 10th. If they lose their last three games they could theoretically drop as low as 13th or 14th, but that would be a miracle. Everton doesn`t have much left to fight for in these last rounds, and their recent results have been rather poor, probably as an effect of this lack of motivation. The visitors won just once of their last 4 games, an unimpressive 1-0 victory over Newcastle on Monday.

Team news & lineups:

Hefele, Kachunga, Ince and Williams are out for Huddersfield, while Stankovic is a doubt. Everton will be without McCarthy, Stekelenburg, Mangala, Holgate, Sigurdsson and possibly Schneiderlin (although chances are he will start).

Huddersfield: Lossl – Hadergjonaj, Zanka, Schindler, Kongolo – Hogg, Mooy – Quaner, Pritchard, Parra – Mounie

Everton: Pickford – Coleman, Jagielka, Keane, Baines – Gueye, Schneiderlin – Walcott, Rooney, Bolasie – Tosun

The hosts haven`t played a game in two weeks, so they will be rested and up for this clash, which is really important to them. The same can not be said about Everton, who played on Monday and doesn`t really have much motivation here.

Neither team is playing lights out recently, but not bad either, and both are coming after wins in their last outings. Everton might have more talent in its ranks, but home court advantage should even things out, especially considering the fact that Everton has an abysmal away record this season (2-6-9, only three teams winning less away points than the Toffees this season).

It may come down to motivation, and Huddersfield has the clear advantage here. They will definitely put on a big fight, and the fans will be behind them, hoping to celebrate Premier League survival – which could happen mathematically if Huddersfield wins and Southampton loses.

Everton has won just twice away from home all season and it`s unlikely they will get a third win against a motivated and feisty Huddersfield side. My tip here is Huddersfield to cover the +0,25 asian handicap. The bet wins if Huddersfield wins, and we still win half of the profit if it will be a draw. Prediction: Huddersfield – Everton 2-1.

Pick: Huddersfield (+0,25 Asian Handicap)
Odds: 1.54 @ Pinnacle
Stake: 8
Possible profit: 4.32
Event date: 28 April
