Match of the week in the Italian Serie A, two good in-form teams will try to get on top on San Siro this evening.
Inter Milan was not expected to do particularly well in this campaign. A rebuilding year under Walter Mazzari has seen Inter undefeated so far in Serie A with 4 wins and 2 draws. But the hosts are on tha back of a 1-1 draw against Cagliari after a rather lucky 2-1 win over Fiorentina, so one could argue that their form is slightly declining. The squad is not very good and people are yet to decide if this team is really good or it was more of a fluke that they started so well. Inter does not seem to have the talent to keep up this form and mount a title challenge and in the last two rounds Fiorentina and Cagliari exposed some obvious weaknesses. Jonathan, Hugo Campagnaro, Javier Zanetti and Cristian Chivu are unavailable for Inter.

While there are questionmarks over Inter’s ability, Roma was expected to be a contender and they are doing exactly that. With excellent signings in the summer such as Strootman or Gervinho, Roma currently leads the Serie A table with 6 wins in 6 matches. The visitors have an amazing goal difference of 17-1 that says a lot about their capabilities. For today Roma gets some guys back in the team. The injury list is composed of only Mattia Destro, Michael Bradley and Maicon. Also Ljajic is doubtful.

Roma won 2 out of 3 games against Inter last season and is undefeated in seven games against the Milan side so the Head 2 Head is clearly on their side. Now with the tables turned in their favors regarding quality, Roma has a very good chance to get at least a point on San Siro.
Even if Inter will continue playing fine (which is a big “if”), Roma is a favorite not to lose against anyone in the Serie A right now. Inter will have to attack at home, but the visitors are absolutely deadly on counters and will hit Inter everytime the hosts leave open spaces. A draw looks to be the best option but I will not be surprised at all if Roma wins this. It`s doubtful that after not winning seven games against Roma, Inter can do it now, when for the first time they are the weaker team. Double chance on the visitors looks like a very safe choice to me so I will go with AS Roma +0,5 handicap. My call is 1-2 as I really can’t see how could inter outscore this in-form Roma team.
