Inverness Caledonian Thistle will square off against Motherwell in the opening day of the Scottish Premiership.
Even though Inverness lost some players after their excellent 2014/2015 season (finished 3rd), the team did bring in some replacements and seems a lock to reach the playoffs once again. Inverness is the better side, they play particularly well at home (defeated only by Partick Thistle and Aberdeen twice last season in all competitions) and have 2 competitive matches under their belt – which is always important at the start of the season. Motherwell posted an atrocious away record last season, losing 15 of their 19 games on the road, which is a scary stat for them against such a solid home team like Inverness.
Inverness won 2 out of 3 matches against Motherwell last season, despite having to play twice on the road. I expect another win from them today. Look for Inverness to keep the ball, stay safe at the back (they looked great defensively against Astra) and I am confident that they will find their way for the winning goal(s) over the course of the 90 minutes.
