Juventus – Sassuolo

Juventus hosts Sassuolo in the last match of the Italian Serie A round 26.

Juve is in a small crisis in the last month. Nothing to worry about, but the last 5 games were not too impressive … maybe except the 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund. Besides that result Juve finished in a draw with Cesena, and Roma, beat Atalanta 2-1 at home and most recently lost 2-1 to Fiorentina in the Cup at home … very tough loss because Juve was really trying to win the cup this season. Allegri called for focus from his players today stressing the importance of getting back to winning ways and of course going 10 points clear of Roma to virtually guarantee the title. For today Pirlo will again not be in the lineup … also the likes of Asamoah, Marrone or Romulo are still on the sidelines.

Sassuolo is one of the nicest teams to watch in Serie A, they play offensive football and have a great attacking trio with Zaza, Berardi and Sansone. Unfortunately for them they are in a nightmare run of games and it`s not getting easier today. Sassuolo showed their limits in the last three matches with Fiorentina, Napoli and Lazio, losing them all by handicap … 1-8 combined goal difference. The bad run can also be atributed to injuries and the visitors will have a number of missing players again today.

The visitors deserve respect and I am not underestimating them but clearly they can’t do the job against big teams .. their weak defense can not cope with the power of the top sides in Serie A. After three exhausting games now Sassuolo must travel to Juvenus and I don’t think they have the fitness and confidence to play a good dame … not to mention the quality. Juventus is a hurt animal and with Allegri pumping up his players, I see the hosts playing better than recently and getting a morale boosting win … my tip is Juventus to win and cover the 1,5 goal handicap.

The only problem I see with this bet is that Allegri said the win is crucial, but he would not mind if it was 1-0. However I am sure Juve will go for the goals if they have the chance … it’s not like they have an objective to win with 1-0 and Sassuolo’s weak defense will give them plenty of chances to bang in more.
