Lazio – Genoa

Lazio comes after an embarrassing 2-1 defeat away at Cesena. It was ridiculous how Lazio aprpoached the game. They played defensive football and hoped to catch Cesena (a very weak team) on the counter-attack. Maybe Lazio had some missing players, maybe it was just an off day, however i expect them to bounce back in style when they meet Genoa today in the Serie A.

Lazio`s lineup will still be without Ciani, Braafheid, but in the attack they will have Felipe Anderson, which is a huge boost.

Genoa has not won for some weeks now. They have lost contact with the top teams and can not hope for more than an EL place at the moment. The problem with Genoa i think is their management. They want to make performances with very few money invested and rely too much on Gasperini, their very smart coach. Now they will miss Burdisso, and they have also sold Antonelli, key player and captain of the team, to Milan (a team that is doing worse than Genoa at the moment). This shows their lack of ambition and long-term planning.

Lazio has proved to have great firepower in the lineup, managing to defeat some teams with a high score (3-0 over Sampdoria) and overall, Lazio scores a lot of goals. I like that Felipe Anderson and Mauri are available, even if Mauri will start on the bench. I do not think Genoa will have enough to bother Lazio today.

My prediction is Lazio to score over 1.5 goals tonight. Good Luck!
