Leicester – Hull City

Leicester Hull betting preview

Leicester City will aim to build on the brilliant win against Liverpool and secure three points against an injury ravaged Hull team.

The Leicester players pretty much proved that they set up Ranieri and forced his resignation, as the Foxes were suddenly brilliant in their first game without the Italian. Vardy and company showed grit and determination, fighting for every ball and pressing like crazy, something they haven`t done since last season. It was an excellent 3-1 victory which was really never in doubt.

Hull is on the back of a 1-1 home draw against Burnley, the result sending them just 1 point behind the safety line. Currently 19th in the Premier League table, Hull has played well since Marco Silva took over and they claimed a number of impressive results against the top teams, but they do have a tough time playing without a lot of important guys.

Team news & lineups:

Molla Wague is the only absentee for Leicester. As for Hull, they will have to do without Keane, Mason, Davies, Dawson, Mbokani, Evandro, Henriksen, Odubajo and Luer. Additionally, Markovic, McGregor, Maguire and Lenihan are questionable.

Leicester City: Schmeichel – Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs – Albrighton, Drinkwater, Ndidi, Mahrez – Okazaki, Vardy

Hull City: Jakupovic – Elmohamady, Ranocchia, Maguire, Robertson – N`Diaye, Huddlestone, Clucas – Markovic, Hernandez, Grosicki

Leicester under Shakespeare look very similar to the team of last year. They play the 4-4-2 and they don`t alter the starting lineup – which, incidentally, is the exact same as last season (with Ndidi in place of Kante). As such, I expect Leicester to play in a similar fashion to how they did last season, when they were winning every home game 1-0 – defending well and grinding wins out.

Hull is scoring less than 1 goal per game and they have only scored once in the last 9 Premier League away games! Leicester has a good shot to keep a clean sheet here. On the other hand, I don`t see them creating too many chances against a Hull side which will fight for its life and will aim for a draw.

Hull has improved under Marco Silva and they are defending well lately, while Leicester can`t be expected to suddenly start scoring 3-4 goals against everybody – especially as that is not in their DNA. I wouldn`t be surprised if the Foxes actually fail to win this.

I`m betting against goals here. My tip is under 2,5. Prediction: Leicester City – Hull City 1-0.

Pick: under 2,5 goals
