The year – end first place in the Premier League is up for grabs for Leicester City, as the 2nd and 4th placed teams meet at King Power Stadium. It will be the second to last Premier League match of 2015.
Leicester City lost only its second game of the year on Saturday, when the league leaders fell 1-0 at Anfield in a good match, but a match they deserved to lose. Meanwhile, Leicester City lost the first place to Arsenal, but the Foxes have this game in hand and can reclaim the top spot at the end of the 19th round to finish 2015 at the pinnacle of the league. It would be an incredible achievement for a team that played some terrific football this season, being able to exploit the fact that nobody took them seriously and teams left plenty of spaces for the incredible duo of Vardy and Mahrez to exploit.
Manchester City lost 2-1 at Emirates to Arsenal two rounds ago, a result that pretty much ended their hopes to finish 2015 on the first place, but City is playing well, only 4 points behind the 1st place and arguably remain title favorites. The citizens are on the back of a solid 4-1 home win over Sunderland – their 3rd in 4 matches in all competitions. However, they need to improve on their 3-2-3 away record if they are to win the league this season.
Bet on Leicester City vs. Manchester City with high Premier League odds at 1xBet.
Team news & lineups:
Schlupp, Drinkwater and James are unavailable for Leicester City. Mahrez and Vardy are slight doubts, but the two key men will most likely start in such an important game. Man City won’t be able to count on Nasri and Kompany. Sergio Aguero is in the same situation as Mahrez and Vardy, so he will probably start as well.
Leicester City: Schmeichel – Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs – Alrbighton, Kante, King, Mahrez – Ulloa, Vardy
Manchester City: Hart – Sagna, Mangala, Otamendi, Kolarov – Fernandinho, Toure – Silva, De Bruyne, Sterling – Aguero
Leicester finally lost 1 game and now everybody is predicting they will go downhill, speaking about fatigue and mental letdown. I will believe it when I see it, but so far Leicester has been trustworthy both with results and with the level of football played. The hosts proved they are the real deal and I reckon they deserve much more credit than the bookies are giving them today.
I feel that 1.80 for Man City is way too low, they are not playing Aston Villa or Newcastle here. Incredibly, only the teams placed 14-20 (7 clubs) gained less away points than Man City this season, though it is true that the Citizens played 1 or 2 less games on the road than everybody so far. Leicester has what it takes to snatch at least a point at home and so my tip will be Leicester City +0,75 asian handicap.
Man City is a team that will leave open spaces and let Leicester play, exactly what the hosts love. Prediction: Leicester City – Manchester City 1-1.
Pick: Leicester City (+0,75 Asian Handicap)
