Monday night football in Spain will see Levante host Athletic Bilbao in the last match of the La Liga round 32.
Levante is sitting comfortably on the 10th place in the standings, no relegation worries, they would actually move up to the 8th place with a win today. A great season for the hosts and this can easily be attributed to their defensive efforts. Levante scores less than 1 goal per game but they are defending very good. Yes, they conceded 38 times in 31 matches, but there were a couple of games like the 0-7 defeat to Barcelona early in the season that made for most of those allowed goals. Athletic (4th place) has really solid chances to play Champions League football next year. They have a 3 point advantage ofer the 5th place and one game in hand, but the gap could have been much bigger if Bilbao did not play such poor football in the last few rounds. The visitors are on the back of a 1-2 home loss to Atletico Madrid and clearly are not in their best form after winning just once in the last 5 league games. Bilbao seems to struggle offensively lately, as they scored just 4 goals in this 5 match span.

Sissoko and Angel are doubtful for Levante, while Navarro is definitely out. Bilbao will have to do without Gomez, Sola, Gurpegi and Laporte.

Really hard to see anything else than a low scoring game here. Bilbao is the better team, but they are in poor form and have never been too good when playing away from home. With Levante`s defensive gameplan and Bilbao`s problems in front of goal, this could well finish even in a 0-0 draw, which I actually think is the most probable result. Look for the hosts to go for a point and try and keep a clean sheet, with Bilbao also hoping to avoid going behind while patiently trying to score a winning goal sooner or later, which they might or might not be able to do – but the visitors won`t be totally disappointed is they only get 1 point, they would then have a 4 point advantage over Sevilla. The most important thing is not to lose. All in all my tip is under 2,5 goals. Prediction: Levante – Athletic Bilbao 0-0 or 0-1.
