Liverpool fell to the 4th spot in the Premier League after losing 3-1 away to Hull City in the last round. The Reds will be pretty confident of bouncing back when they take on one of the weakest road sides of this Premier League season, Norwich City, at Anfield.
Brendan Rodgers seems to have finally created a Liverpool side that can compete at the highest level. Liverpool played some brilliant football to stay on the 2nd place behind Arsenal for most of the season, until running into a bad patch of form lately with a single win in the last 4 games. Admittedly, they did have some tough games in this stretch, playing Arsenal, Everton and a Hull City side very strong at home. The defeat against Hull last round assures extra-motivation for Liverpool today. Another bad result will hurt their title chances immensely.
Norwich City is currently 14th in the standings, but for sure this placement is no thanks to their performances on the road. The visitors lost 5 out of their 6 away matches and have an abysmal goal difference of 3-16. They have lost the last 4 road games in all competition with a combined score of 17-2! Norwich did well to recover after that 7-0 defeat to City a few weeks ago and they have 2 wins in the last three games, but of course both were at home and against poor sides like West Ham and Crystal Palace.

Team news & lineups
Liverpool will miss Sturridge, an important absence but pretty much the only one. The Reds also can’t count on Coates and Enrique, but they are long term absentees. Agger and Coutinho will return to the starting lineup. Norwich is in a much worse spot with injuries and suspensions. City will have to do without Pilkington, Snodgrass, Bennet, van Wolfsfinkel, Bunn and Tettey.
Liverpool: Mignolet – Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Flanagan – Coutinho, Lucas, Gerrard, Moses (Aspas)- Henderson – SuΓ‘rez.
Norwich City: Ruddy – Martin, Turner, R Bennett, Olsson – Johnson – Howson, Hoolahan, Fer, Redmond – Hooper.
With Sturridge out, Liverpool will have to mostly rely on Suarez for goals here, but even so I reckon the Reds can cover a 1 goal handicap with some help from the offensive players they will field in midfield (Coutinho, Gerard, Moses / Aspas or Henderson). The Reds’ poor form is misleading, as they had very tough games lately and even so they showed they can score. I can see Liverpool very motivated and strong after the Hull defeat, it`s hard to think they will accept losing points for the second consecutive time against teams in the bottom half of the table. ‘Pool is a solid team and they are set to recover after an ugly defeat. I will pick Liverpool to cover the 1 goal handicap, as I find them to be the biggest favorite today in Premier League, despite Arsenal having shorter odds against Hull. Norwich is very poor on the road, their defense is horrible and they are not really the team to spring upstets on the road. I don`t see any premises for an unpleasant surprise here. My tip here is a dominant and confident home win.Β Liverpool – Norwich City 3-0.
