Malmo – Swansea

Malmo Swansea Bony betting previewSwansea made light work of Malmo in the first leg, winning comfortably with a 4-0 scoreline and basically assuring qualification for the next round. The quality gap between the two teams was just so obvious, even with Malmo being in top form and Swansea having no official matches under their belts.

Malmo will rotate the squad a little bit today, resting their best players for the crucial weekend game against AIK. Malmo and AIK are tied for second place, both of them 2 points behind leaders Helsinborgs, so obviously that game will be a huge one. Malmo does not want to risk fatigue and injuries so they made a logical decision to concentrate on the league. They might even decide to send the reserves in until match time, but the certain fact is that Malmo will rest some key players.

Swansea looked brilliant in the first leg, confirming their excellent pre-season display. The welsh have a great team this year with the offensive partnership between Michu and new star-signing Bony (from Vitesse), they should make some noise in the Premier League. Swansea will also rotate the squad here after the 4-0 drubbing in the first leg, but not to a very big extent. Michael Laudrup brought some excellent players in Sweden, and most of them will see field-time:

Vorm, Amat, Taylor, Flores, Williams, Britton, Michu, Bony, Dyer, Lamah, Routledge, Monk, Ki, Moore, De Guzman, Canas, Rangel, Pozuelo, Tremmel, Davies.

Laudrup is extremely passionate about this european campaign, he is talking over and over about how important it is for the team to affirm itself on the european stage. It`s the first european outing of Swansea and they just want to win every game, go as far as they can, maybe even challenge for the cup. They also view this as perfect preparation for the Premier League season which is not far away. We will see a focused display from the visitors, that`s for sure. This is not your typical big-name team that chooses to relax in the qualifying rounds.

Basically it will be a game between a mix of regulars and reserves on both sides. The thing here is that while Swansea has Premier League level substitutes, Malmo doesn`t have a strong bench and can never properly replace the key players. If this game would have been played in normal circumstances, with both teams fielding their best first eleven, it would have been a tighter game on paper. But the difference between Malmo`s and Swansea`s reserves is even bigger than between the two teams` regulars. Adding this to the focus Swansea has for Europa League, it`s fair to anticipate another Swansea victory.

Swansea could win this anyway, they are just so much better and they look at the competition with respect. Malmo already resigned from this tie and it`s not impossible to see another big scoreline here.
