Man City – Chelsea

The most anticipated clash of the Premier League weekend is upon us, with Manchester City taking on league leaders Chelsea at Etihad.

City must feel a little disheartened after losing 1-0 in the Champions League at Bayern in the last minutes, a match in which they played pretty good football. It was the 3rd consecutive match without a win for City after a lucky 2-2 draw with Arsenal and a 0-1 defeat to Stoke. The hosts need to pick themselves up quickly but playing Chelsea and Diego Costa will not be an easy task.

Chelsea is the most in form team in the Premier League and not only won all 4 matches, but covered the handicap in all of them and scored 15 goals! However, Mourinho`s side was held by a 1-1 draw midweek by Schalke, the Germans showing that Chelsea CAN be contained. Diego Costa is in blistering form with 7 goals in the first 4 matches but playing against Kompany will be his first real test, so it remains to be seen how that goes. On the other hand you have to believe Demichelis will be a liability against Chelsea-s incredible offensive versatility.

A draw looks possible here but I reckon the best bet is one on goals. Premier League matches between big teams usually have lots of direct football and goalscoring chances, with each side looking to get the three points and I don`t think it will be different this time around. Chelsea has been brilliant up front while we all know what City can do on offense themselves. We should sit back and enjoy this one on the TV, with a bet that has good chances to put some money in our pockets as well (and at very good odds). My tip is over 2,5, but I won`t exaggerate with the stakes – 7 units is enough for this pick. Prediction: Manchester City – Chelsea 2-2.
