As the Premier League resumes after the International break, Manchester City and Everton will both look back to return to winning ways.

City had an absolutely blistering start to the season, winning the first 10 matches in all competitions and, more importantly, playing fantastic offensive football under Guardiola. However, the Citizens lost some steam in the last two matches, drawing 3-3 in Scotland with Celtic in the Champions League and losing 2-0 away at Spurs in the Premier League. Everton has also struggled lately after a run of 5 consecutive victories. The Toffees have failed to win any of their last three matches against Bournemouth, Norwich and Crystal Palace. Everton is still on a very solid 5th position in the Premier League, but one has to ask is they aren`t actually overrated. Fact is that Everton had an unbelievably easy schedule to open the season, playing a single match against somebody expected to finish Top 10 in the league – it was a 1-1 home draw against Spurs in the first round. Since then, Everton played exclusively against relegation candidates, mid table hopefuls, or lower league teams in the Cup.

Sagna and Kompany are out for City, while De Bruyne, Sterling and Delph are doubtful. Everton will miss Pennington, Besic and Browning, while also having question marks over the fitness of McCarthy and Lennon.

I think odds for Manchester City are artificially inflated here, I don`t believe a City win should be priced higher than 1.40. Two weak games from them in a row don`t mean that much, especially with an International break taking place before this match – and especially since Everton is in even worse short term form.

The visitors should be a Top 10 team this season, but I firmly believe their current record makes them overrated, considering the fact that they did not win against any serious opponent this season. The recent form seems to prove that, particularly as they still had a very easy schedule and still failed to win games.
