Manchester United will look to build on their win against Arsenal when they take on struggling Hull City at Old Trafford.
United finally got a relevant win this season, defeating Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates, but in all honesty it wasn`t much of an improvement for Van Gaal`s side. The Devils defended the whole match and were lucky to escape the first half an hour, when Arsenal should have scored at least once or twice. United went on to score twice on breaks in the second half but they received great help from Arsenal, who played rubbish football in the last 45 minutes. All in all, the hosts are still struggling and will probably struggle throughout this season with Van Gaal’s incompatibility with Premier League football and also with the great deal of injuries they have. But on the bright side United has climbed to the 4th place in the standings and will surely feel they will remain there after this home game against Hull.
The visitors are in a huge slump right now, losing 3 consecutive matches and winning just once in their last 11. In the last three matches Hull scored just once, which is an obvious reason for the defeats, as their defense is poor. I am honestly surprised that Hull is doing so bad, they made some great moves in the off season and have a great team, also played great football at times and got solid results against the likes of Arsenal or Liverpool – however, they just can`t find consistency.

Team news & lineups
United will be decimated in defense again: Blind, Shaw, Rafael, Jones, Evans and Lingard are out, Rojo is higly doubtful. Falcao is back. Hull City will have to do without Snodgrass, Hernandez and Ramirez, with Bruce doubtful.
Manchester United: De Gea – McNair, Smalling, Blackett – Valencia, Carrick, Fellaini, Young – Di Maria – Rooney, Van Persie
Hull City: Harper – Chester, Dawson, Davies, Elmohamady – Huddlestone, Livermore, Diame, Robertson – Jelavic, Brady
Listen, Hull could not be in more of a crisis right now, but they are not a bad team at all and put on solid performances against top teams this year, drawing at Anfield and Emirates, they were also unlucky to lose in the last minute to Tottenham last round. Hull met most of the top teams in the Premier League so far but lost by more than 1 goal only once this season and it was against Manchester City, while United covered the handicap a single time, against a horrible QPR side.
My tip is Hull City +1,5 handicap. Over 2,5 goals also looks a decent bet, but the odds are too low for my taste. Look for a close game, and United`s inconsistency will not allow them to win big against a decent side which is desperate for points. Note that Hull is also healthier than in recent weeks. Prediction: Manchester United – Hull City 2-1.
