One of the most anticipated matches in the Wimbledon 3rd round will see Marin Cilic take on Tomas Berdych in a clash between two fine players.
Cilic played great tennis this year and he was even showcasing a Top 10 level at times, for example in his encounter with Djokovic in Roland Garros, where he lost in 4 sets. However, the Croatian lost his first grass court match of the season in Queens against Matosevic and needed 4 sets to defeat both Mathieu and Haider Maurer, so he seems just a little bit off his rhythm, but he`s playing good tennis nonetheless.

Berdych himself needed 4 sets to get past Victor Hanescu and Bernard Tomic, just like Cilic he has a good level of play but not at his absolute best just yet. Tomas is a fine grass court player and is looking for a good performance here in Wimbledon, he`s a former finalist here and knows he can perform.
The H2H is 5-2 for Berdych and he won the last meeting this year in Rotterdam (6-4 6-2), but Cilic triumphed in the only clash on grass between the two: 7-6 7-5 last year in Queens.
This should be an entertaining encounter with some great tennis and it will probably end up being very close. Berdych has odds of about 1.35, which is a little bit low in my opinion, but he should be able to prevail in the end. Nevertheless, Cilic is a top player and will surely be tough opposition for the Czech. Both guys have good serves and can hold their service games, so at least one tiebreak is probable. I expect Berdych to win in 4 close sets. I was thinking about the over bet here, but the line is pretty high at 41,5 games, also the handicap on Cilic is slim at just 3 games. In these circumstances I will take a calculated risk and tip Berdych to win 3-1, the third 4 setter for each player in this tournament. Prediction: Marin Cilic – Tomas Berdych 4-6 6-3 6-7 4-6.
