Miami has been known to be a streaky team in the regular season, alternating periods of total determination with weeks in which they are resting players and don`t try so hard. The way they are playing now, it seems their current run could easily go another 8 or more games.
The Rockets are also an in-form team, winning 8 of their last 10 games and defeating Detroit by 8 points in their last outing three days ago. Dwight Howard has really taken this team to the next level, but Houston is still inconsistent and they can`t really be trusted, especially against the best teams in the league. The Rockets have a couple of day to day players for this one, including Chandler Parsons, but chances are everybody will be ready to play.

The recent H2H between these two clearly favors Miami, with the Heat winning the last 7 games. Wade missed the game against the Bobcats but he will start today so that`s good news for the visitors.
I fancy Miami to win this one and also cover the small spread set by the bookies. Personally I`m not rating Houston to be even Western Conference finals material but objectively speaking they seem to be a solid team right now. However, they are yet to prove themselves and are way to inconsistent for the big boys (they lost regularly against the top sides this season). Howard is moody, Harden and Lin depend on form to put on decent FG%, Parsons may play limited minutes. Houston (101.9 points allowed per game) does not have the game to defend Lebron and I expect another top class performance from him tonight. The Rockets are stronger in the paint but they can`t match up with Miami in the back court and in the depth department, so that will be a problem for them.
There are a few things working against Miami as well, most notable that they are back to back (not road back to back though) and that Lebron just had the game of his career and theoretically could drop his level, but all in all my tip is Heat to cover the spread with high stakes. Miami is by far the better team, they are motivated and they know how to win these games. Houston defeated just two top teams this season (Spurs 3 times and Blazers 2 times), losing to pretty much every other contender – and that’s a key factor for this bet, a factor that people are forgetting when they are betting on the Rockets and dropping their odds for this game. Prediction: something like Miami Heat at Houston Rockets 110 – 100.
