Milan – Torino

Milan Torino betting previewMilan will look to make it 3 out of 3 in the Serie A under Clarance Seedorf but the opposition could hartly be tougher, with the surprise package Torino coming at San Siro to grab at least a point.

After getting rid of Allegri, Milan appointed Mauro Tassotti as an interim coach and three matches ago they hired Clarance Seedorf as manager. After a horrific season, the league results have instantly improved under Seedorf, with 2 consecutive wins in the Serie A against Verona and Cagliari, but on the other hand Milan was knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Udinese. While the Serie A results might have improved, overall the Rossoneri are stil playing very poot football. In the three games under Seedorf they lost to Udine, barely beat Verona due to a late penalty kick and were incredibly lucky to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Cagliari with goals int the last three minuted of the match. Three of Milan`s four goals in the Seedorf era were scored by Balotelli, and the italian striker won`t play against Torino. All in all, Milan is currently 9th in the standings, just 5 points behind the last european spot, but with a long way to go in terms of the playing level. They might have gotten some confidence with Seedorf, but the tactical approach is still chaotic.

Torino is currently on the 6th place in the standings and the visitors surprised everybody this season with their solid play. The visitors have a great offensive line with 34 goals scored in 21 rounds and their form is very good, with a single loss in their last 9 games (6 wins, 2 draws). On the road Torino could have done a little bit better, they have a statline of 3-3-4. Torino is on the back of a 1-0 win against Atalanta after previously defeating Sassuolo 2-0 on the road.

Β Team news and lineups

Milan has serious injury worries for this one, with no less than 8 players set to miss the game: Balotelli, Silvestre, El Shaarawy, Abiatti, Zacardo, Poli, Petagna and Zapata. Essien might make his debut for the hosts. Torino is not far away from a clean bill of health, but Larrondo and Gazzi are injured, while Gillet is suspended.

Milan: Amelia – De Sciglio, Rami, Bonera, Emanuelson – De Jong, Montolivo – Honda, Kaka, Robinho – Pazzini

Torino: Padelli – Moretti, Glik, Maksimovic, Darmian – Masiello, Farnerud, Vives, Cerci, El Kaddouri – Immobile

I really feel Milan`s odds are way off here. The hosts might be the better team quality-wise and they are also pretty good at home, but their current level of play is very low and the last wins were lucky. Besides this, Milan has to deal with an injury crisis and misses the man who basically brought them the last two wins, Balotelli. Torino is in great form and has surprised much better teams than Milan this season, including Roma, Inter, Fiorentina, Lazio and even Milan themselves, in a 2-2 draw earlier this season. Admittedly, all those results were at home, but Torino didn`t have too many games against top teams on the road, so they did not have a chance to prove themselves. The visitors are a pretty offensive team but recently they stepped up their defense, keeping three consecutive clean sheets, so a chaotic Milan side without El Shaarawy and Balotelli might find it hard to create chances. Much better organized, with great form and morale, the visitors look set to produce a so-called upset here. My tip is Torino double chance (+0,5 handicap) at great odds. Prediction: Milan – Torino 1-2.
