🏀 Minnesota Timberwolves – Golden State Warriors ❌

The Timberwolves will host the Warriors on Thursday night in the NBA.

The Wolves (19-44, 11-19 home) have been the worst team in the NBA for most of the season, but recently they went on a nice run, winning three in a row and 4 of the last 5 – including two shocking victories against the Utah Jazz. It’s a good sign for Minnesota, they are starting to find an identity and it helps that they are healthier.

Golden State (31-31, 12-20 away) was playing well and winning games until Tuesday, when they were destroyed by a shorthanded Mavs team, losing by 30 – and even that doesn’t truly show how bad the Dubs were. Golden State was horrific on both sides on the floor, but at least it was only their third loss in the last ten games.

Injury report: Beasley is the only missing player for Minnesota. Golden State will miss Lee and probably Oubre (he’s doubtful), besides the long term injuries of Thompson, Wiseman and Paschall. Bazemore will be back.

What happened in the last few days has totally messed up the odds here. We were probably looking at odds 1.25 – 1.30 for the Warriors, but Minnesota’s surprisingly good run, along with Golden State’s collapse on Tuesday, have made this a competitive match in the eyes of the bookmakers.

I doubt it will be so. Teams like Minny do not put up many good games in a row, and they already showed signs of regress in their most recent outing against the dreadful Rockets, needing a late surge snatch that win. They are “due a loss”, as the saying goes, even if it’s a pretty dumb saying to be honest. Meanwhile, the Warriors are sure to bring full intensity after what happened Tuesday, as coach Kerr guaranteed.

Steph Curry has been on a tear and I don’t see Russell or Rubio capable of slowing him down one bit. I reckon he’ll rally the troops, drop 40 or 50, and lead the Warriors to a much needed W.

I like to bet on Golden State in situations like these because they usually have a habit of bouncing back after bad performances. The last time they were humiliated (lost by 53 against Toronto) they went on a very nice run. I expect this will happen again, especially as the schedule really opens up for them. Hopefully it’ll start tonight and not the next game. Prediction: Minnesota Timberwolves – Golden State Warriors 111 – 119.
