Nick Kyrgios and Feliciano Lopez will square off in a highly anticipated Wimbledon third round match, which should be mostly played on serve.
Kyrgios is having a really good season so far, though he lost his only grass court match before Wimbledon (1-2 to Raonic at Queens). The Australian defeated Stepanek and Dustin Brown so far at SW19, but he did lose three sets and he was actually down 1-2 to the spectacular Brown in the second round. Nevertheless, Kyrgios got trough and considering how well he played this year, the Australian is expected to raise his level starting with the third round.
Feliciano is one of the few grass court specialists left out there. Lopez can play on all surfaces, particularly on hard, but grass is his best surface. His serve is incredibly effective on grass, even better than you would expect – because while Lopez does own a very strong serve, he isn`t exactly Karlovic or even Kyrgios. However, on grass his serve might just be the best on tour, there`s something in the way he hits the ball which works fantastic on the green. He owns records of consecutive matches without conceding breaks at various grass tournaments and at one point two years ago he was broken only once in 15 matches or so on the green (rough estimate). Unfortunately for Lopez he is not in very good form lately, losing to Youzhny and Cilic on grass before stepping up at Wimbledon to defeat Ram 3-0 and Fognini 3-2.

Kyrgios and Lopez met twice, both times in 2015, on clay and hard court. Lopez leads the Head 2 Head 2-0 and has not lost a set, but there were no less than 3 tiebreaks in the 4 sets these two played together. Obviously the matchup between these fine servers and not so good returners makes tiebreaks a probability when they meet.
Both these players own thundering serves and while Kyrgios is definitely having a much better year, the two guys showed a similar level so far at Wimbledon. I could easily see 2 or even 3 tiebreaks in this one, as the Head 2 Head suggests.
Kyrgios was broken 4 times in 9 sets so far, while Lopez was broken 6 times in 8 sets. Lopez definitely got broken way more than usual, but we do have to take into account that he had a 5 setter against a very good returner like Fognini.
My tip is a first set tiebreak to occur, I don`t expect much trouble on serve until these two get a feel of eachother and that should take 2 sets or so. Weather forecast for Saturday suggests rain, so this match might not be completed until Sunday, but there`s a fair chance for at least the first set to be completed, which would be enough to settle this bet.
