The Super Eagles managed to miss qualification to the African cup of Nations … it was an absolute pathetic performance by Nigeria … they were the trophy holders but were surpassed in the group by South Africa and Congo. They recorded some shocking results like losing at home to Congo, or losing in Sudan. For this game many of the top players are not available / were not selected, but Nigeria can still field a good lineup with the likes of Enyeama, Onazi, Musa, Aluko, etc. Far from the best possible lineup, but decent.

Uganda is an emerging football nations and did very well in the qualifiers for the African Nations Cup last year … barely missing a historic qualification. They got some great results like 1-1 and 1-0 with Ghana (!!) or 2-0 vs. Guinea. Unfortunately one of their best players, Azira, will not be in the lineup today.

The odds for Nigeria are very, very risky today. A lousy 1.30 for a game that can really go either way. Nigeria will field a very weakened lineup, their morale is low, they don’t really want to play this game and their fans are not to happy either … Uganda is a very well organized defensive team (exactly the team that can frustrate Nigeria) and views this as a big chance to further establish themselves as contenders in Africa. Visitors will fight their hearts out. They proved in the ACN quals that they can play football and can beat anybody … taking 4 points from Ghana in official matches was a very big statement.

There is every reason to expect an upset in my opinion, Nigeria never had it easy vs. Uganda … my tip is Uganda double chance x2 … a bit of a long shot of course, but well worth a moderate stake. Correct score prediction: Nigeria – Uganda 1-1.
