Norwich – Liverpool

Norwich City Liverpool betting previewLiverpool will be fully focused to avoid any slip ups in their quest for the first Premier League title in history, but Norwich are motivated themselves as the relegation battle could hardly be any tighter. Massive clash for both sides at Carrow Road.

The hosts are in horrible form lately, losing 4 of their last 5 matches. Even worse, Norwich lost 3 in a row and failed to score in each of those last games. However, the last defeat (1-0 against Fulham) was totally undeserved, as Norwich missed tons of chances and would have even merited the three points. Norwich is currently on the first non-relegating spot, just 2 points over 18th placed Fulham, so they need points like air. A visit from Liverpool is surely not the best moment for City to recover, but nevertheless one can be sure they will give it everything they have.

‘Pool has now won 10 consecutive matches in the Premier League and after the 3-2 success against Manchester City last round, they are now favorites to lift the title. Who would have thought? Liverpool has an amazing offense, scoring 93 goals in 34 matches so far in the league, and the Sturridge – Suarez – Sterling trio is one of the most deadly in European football. The visitors are fully focused and motivated for this one, we could see this at the end of the City game, with Gerrard rallying the troups and switching attention to the Norwich game.

Team news & lineups

Norwich is happy to have a full squad to choose from except Yobo, with Bassong being the only injury doubt – but he will most likely start given the importance of the game. Liverpool has a couple of big problems. Enrique is a long term injury, but Henderson and Sturridge are huge blows. The latter could however be on the bench and play in the second half.

Norwich City: Ruddy – Whittaker, Bassong, Turner, Olsson – Johnson, Fer, Howson, Snodgrass, Redmond – Van Wolfswinkel.

Liverpool: Mignolet – Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Flanagan – Gerrard, Lucas – Sterling, Coutinho, Allen – Suárez.

I love how this Liverpool side is playing, they are one of the most entertaining teams to watch in European football. I`m sure I`m not the only one who is cheering for them to win the title, especially for Gerrard. Nevertheless, I feel people are going a little bit mad on ‘Pool today, and odds of 1.35 to win away at Norwich are a joke.

Norwich might not be in the best form, but they were improving last round despite the loss and are very good at home. The fact that Norwich is fighting for their lives in the Premier League will make it that much harder for Liverpool to get a win. Sturridge missing out of the first 11 will also hurt ‘Pool’s attacking strength. Of course, Liverpool to win might still happen, but I reckon it will be very close. My tip is Norwich +1,5 handicap and the odds are surely value for this bet. Prediction: Norwich – Liverpool 1-2.

Pick: Norwich (+1,5)

Possible profit: 6.32

  1. what do you mean when you say the first title in history for liverpool? haven t they won the title never before?

    • they haven`t won it since the induction of the Premier League system (’91 or ’92), so that`s why I said the first Premier League title.
