This might well be a Premier League clash next year, with Leicester City virtually assuring promotion and Nottingham Forest on track to at least make the playoffs. It should be good football at The City Ground between two of the best sides in the English Championship.
Nottingham Forest is 5th in the standings right now, 6 points behind second placed Burnley and with one game in hand. They seem to be a lock for the playoffs, with 7th placed Wigan 8 points behind. Forest is in fantastic form right now, undefeated in the last 13 Championship games and winning 4 of the last 5. However, the hosts lost in the weekend against Sheffield United (3-1) in the FA Cup, their first defeat since November. But surely Forest’s focus was on this game against Leicester.
The visitors are having an epic season in the Championship, leading the league with 7 points ahead of the second place and also with 1 game in hand. Leicester is posting a statline of 21 wins, 4 draws and 5 losses, truly amazing for such a rugged league like the Championship. City is in very good form right now, winning 9 consecutive Championship games before being held to a 2-2 home draw by Watford in the last league game. However, Leicester won the last few games pretty close, so one might say their motivation has decreased a little bit lately, with the title and the promotion virtually assured.

Team news and lineups
Forest has a lengthy injury list, having to do without Blackstock, Vaughan, Cohen, Lansbury and Wilson. Lichaj, Hobs, Moussi, Cox and Majewski are doubtful, but all should be ready for the game. The good news for Forest is that these injuries are not something new and the team did well so far even in these conditions. Leicester will miss St. Ledger and Hopper, while Moore si doubtful but should play.
Nottingham Forest: Darlow – Halford, Lascelles, Hobbs, Fox – Jara, Moussi – Reid, Mackie, Paterson – Djebbour
Leicester City: Schmeichel – De Laet, Morgan, Moore, Konchesky – Knockaert, James, Drinkwater, Dyer – Nugent, Vardy
I will pick the draw here, as it seems to be the most likely outcome in this one. There`s just so little separating the two teams. Leicester is better and is healthier, but Forest is much more motivated and has the home court advantage, so everything evens out. Both sides have serious quality and are in good form. Considering Forest is a draw specialist, with no less than 12 such results in 30 rounds (tied for most draws in the league), I can see this one finishing undecided, especially since a tie game would pretty much satisfy both sides. My tip is the draw and like always, the odds for a stalemate are extremely attractive. I doubt one could say the draw is not the most probable moneyline outcome here, so this has value written all over it. Prediction: Nottingham Forest – Leicester City 1-1.
