The Utah Jazz will attempt to win their first away game of the season, when they travel to Phoenix on the second night of a back to back, taking on the lowly Suns.
Phoenix (1-3, 1-1 home) was always going to be struggling in the bottom of the Western Conference this season, but after recent events it`s hard to see anybody being worse than them in the entire NBA. Arguably their best player, Bledsoe, tweeted he doesn`t want to play in Phoenix, so he has been suspended by the team. The Suns also fired their coach and are currently led by interim Jay Triano. With Triano at the helm and without Bledsoe, the Suns did manage to claim their first win of the season a couple of days ago, but barely – a 2 point home victory against another one of NBA’s worst teams, the Kings.
Utah (2-2, 0-2 home) lost Gordon Hayward and George Hill during the off season, but the team made some nice moves to make up for these departures. Hayward remains a big loss, but Hill’s absence won`t be felt after the addition of Ricky Rubio. Utah played very well in the start of this season despite a very difficult schedule, but they did have their worst game last night, losing by 18 in LA against the Clippers.

Utah continues to miss backup PG Exum, while starting SG Rodney Hood is doubtful and might come back after not playing in the last two games.
Even if they managed to win one game, the Suns have been absolutely horrible so far, losing by 48 points against the Blazers, by 42 points against the Clippers and even getting beat by the Lakers at home. Their last win against the Kings was a good result, but Sacramento is dirt poor just like Phoenix.
Now without Bledsoe, this Suns roster is really looking horrible, and it really seems that they can only win games in the NBA if they have a fluke big shooting night. Unfortunately for them, that is unlikely to happen against one of the best defensive teams in the league.
Phoenix’s defense can`t keep anyone at bay so the Jazz will be able to score (scoring being their biggest problem), while the Suns will have a tough time scoring themselves against an air tight defensive team.
Utah is back to back on the road and that is always a reason for concern, but it`s early in the season, so it shouldn`t have much of an impact. The Jazz are also coming after their worst display of the season, so it`s unlikely for a good team like them to have a second bad night in a row.
Look for Utah to win this game. They have been very good aside for last night’s loss, beating top teams like the Thunder and the Wolves, while also losing by just 3 points in Minnesota. After 4 matches against playoff contenders, the Jazz should relish the opportunity for an easier night in Phoenix.
My tip is Utah to cover the 5 point (asian) handicap, I believe the Jazz are too well organized and balanced for this Phoenix bunch. High stakes of 9 units seem like a reasonable investment on this bet. Prediction: Phoenix Suns – Utah Jazz 90 – 105.
