The Pittsburgh Penguins will host the Nashville Predators in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals, and after watching these NHL playoffs closely, as well as Game 1, I feel ready for a rare pick on Ice Hockey.
The Penguins (2nd seeds, East) lead the series 1-0 after winning Game 1 by 5 goals to 3, but you can rarely see a luckier win in the NHL. Pittsburgh was totally outplaed for the entire duration of the game and just just 12 times on goal (compared to Nashville’s 26 shots), but somehow they managed to be incredibly efficient and win the game. The Pens took a 3-0 early lead and didn`t take a shot on goal for 37 minutes (!!!), lost that lead, but took two more shots before the end of the game, which obviously both went in.
Nashville (8th seed, West) will be gutted with that Game 1 loss and it remains to be seen if they will take the positives or the negatives from it. The positive of course was the fact that they were so much better than Pittsburgh. On the other hand, losing despite playing so well could have a devastating effect on confidence and morale.

Fact is that the Predators have been the best team in these playoffs, beating the title favorites Chicago 4-1 in the first round, and then knocking out St Louis and Anaheim 4-2. Pittsburgh on the other hand have struggled and could have lost against both WAshington (4-3) and Ottawa (4-3).
I expect Pittsburgh to play better, but I don`t expect Nashville to play worse. Game 1 was a total fluke in terms of the scoreline and I can see Nashville leveling the series at 1-1 here, especially as home court advantage has not been that important in these playoffs.
My tip is Nashville to cover the 0,5 handicap and I will invest high stakes on the bet. Prediction: Pittsburgh Penguins – Nashville Predators 2-2 (2-3 overtime).

Man pittsburg eliminate the title favorites Washington. Not Chicago was title favorites you should check the odds. However the pick maked sense. It must be so frustrated for the predators to leave with empty hand from pittsburgh.
Are you sure? I don`t remember the exact odds at the start of the playoffs, but knowing Caps are famous for chocking in the playoffs, I was under the impression Chicago were favorites after the regular season. You may be right though.
Yep, I`d say Nashville was slightly better last night as well at least until the start of the 3rd period. They must be GUTTED and it`s almost over now.
