APOEL coming after 4-0 win in Cyprus where they are on the 1st place (7 wins, 1 draw, no losses) and received only 2 goals in 8 matches (!!!). In Champions League they played close games so far 0-1 vs. Barcelona, 0-1 vs. PSG, 1-1 vs. Ajax. Obviously APOEL is a very well organized team and they rely a lot on their solid defense, but are not too gifted in the offensive area … and especially in the Champions League they find it hard to create chances to score. APOEL has some squad problems, like they did in the previous match vs. PSG: Kaka, Papafotis, Riise and Charalambides will not play … Manduca, Aloneftis, Antoniades and Tiago Gomes are questionable. Serious handicap for the Cypriots in this department.
I see PSG winning against APOEL again, and keeping a clean sheet again. Hosts don’t have the same offensive flow like last year and are focusing more on defense, Ibrahimovic is still out and we know APOEL has very few offensive weapons to create danger. They did not have a shot on target vs. PSG at home and I don’t see why they should be more dangerous away.
