Valencia lost the 4th place in the La Liga standings yesterday after Sevilla won at Eibar … so “Los Che” will be very motivated to win today and get it back. Visitors are coming after a 4-0 win vs. Granada but have been a little shaky recently, winning only 2 of the last 5 matches and only 1 of the last 4 matches away from home. On the other hand they did have a pretty difficult schedule, but if they want the 4th place, they need to step it up. The good news for Valencia is that they have a full squad available for today … no injuries or suspensions.
Normally you would expect Valencia to win this and not miss the chance to regain the 4th place … but Rayo is playing better than the stats suggest and is a very dangerous team especially at home, where they have 6 wins and 1 loss in the last 7 matches … with the only loss coming at the hands of Real Madrid in a game where Rayo did not deserve to lose. I see this being a tight game of football early on and Rayo will not go down without a fight. Hosts should be able to hold their own at least until the latter stages of the game.
