Romania will square off against Denmark in an International Friendly at the Arena Nationala in Bucharest. Both teams are coming after important victories in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, but have put on slightly different performances.
The hosts have played their first match without coach Victor Piturca on Friday and managed to win 2-0 against Northern Ireland, but Romania did not play a great game of football. The score was tied for over 70 minutes and Romania needed two late goals scored by a defender to beat an inferior opponent at home. The defensive performance was good, denying chances to the Northern Irish, but the offense left a lot to be desired and it`s doubtful that new coach Anghel Iordanescu will be able to work something out in this department so soon – especially as his abilities as a coach are doubtful at his age and Romania lacks talent big time from the midfield up.

Denmark gor an exciting 3-1 road win against Serbia (albeit the match was played under closed doors). Bendtner reminded people of his early Arsenal form with two goals and the most important aspect is that Denmark deserved that win, having more chances and dominating possession. The visitors might not have the same quality as in the past and they did not play amazing football before the Serbia game, but they are a pretty good side with a couple of star players and should reach Euro 2016.
Team news: There might be a couple of changes here and there in the lineups, but both coaches are expected to field pretty much the strongest lineups available. Marica (Romania) and Agger (Denmark) are the most important missings ahead of this clash, but neither of the two played in the weekend either.
This is a very balanced game on paper, the two teams are evenly matched. I`d say Denmark is a little bit better and played better in the last match, but home court advantage for Romania will nullify and slight edge the Danes have. With the game being a meaningless friendly, I reckon a draw is very likely to happen, it is the logical result and it would satisfy both teams. I find it to be the best bet on the 1×2 market without a doubt. This being said, my tip is the draw. Prediction: Romania – Denmark 1-1.
