Russia and Morocco will play an International Friendly in Moscow, the last outing for the Russian team before the World Cup.
Russia under Capello is a very tough team to beat, they topped their World Cup qualifying Group and did not lose in their last 9 matches. Defense is the main asset for the hosts, they are very well organized and do not allow too many chances for opponents. Russia is on the back of a 1-1 draw in Norway, a match they should have arguably won considering they had a couple of clear cut scoring opportunities. The draw came after 3 consecutive wins, all at home, in which Russia scored 5 times and conceded just once (vs. South Korea, Armenia and Slovenia).

Morocco was way off pace in the World Cup qualifying campaign and never stood a chance against Ivory Coast. The visitors are trying to build a competitive squad for the 2015 African Nations Cup, but recent results did not go their way. Morocco is in very poor form, winning just twice in the last 11 games, and that was against Uganda and Mozambique. The African side is on the back of a 2-0 defeat against Angola ten days ago.
Fabio Capello has named his 23 man squad for the World Cup so obviously the lineup will be very strong today, with the Italian manager looking to make some final tweaks in the starting 11 prior to Brazil.
There`s little doubt that Russia is the better team here, they are also in much better form, will use a strong lineup and have home court advantage – which is even more important considering how poor African teams are on the road and that Russia did not lose at home in the last 19 matches (13 wins, 6 draws). I`m a little bit surprised that the odds are so high and Russia to win is the obvious pick here, but I bet they can also do it without conceding a goal. The hosts are very tight at the back, extremely well organized and I doubt an out of form Morocco side can trouble them in Moscow. The Africans also have trouble creating chances and are known more as a defensive team. My tip will be Russia to win to nil. Prediction: Russia – Morocco 2-0.
