Sevilla’s first leg victory was a bit surprising considering their shaky form, but especially looking at their previous results on the road in 2015 / 2016. Sevilla is clearly in the mood of breaking runs, as they did it in the last home match as well – losing 1-2 to Real Sociedad after an incredible streak of 17 straight wins at Sanchez Pizjuan. Sevilla has lost 3 of the last 4 matches, including 1-2 at Valencia over the weekend.
The visitors will not be happy with the first leg result, as it was a close match, they had the lead and eventually lost it via an 83rd mintue goal. It was a close game with Bilbao as the slightly better team and the fair result would have been a draw. Athletic Bilbao is not playing well either recently and their 1-0 home win over Rayo Vallecano a few days ago was only their first victory in 5 matches.

Some of the recent results have been unlucky, though their bad luck evened out against Bilbao, where fortune was a bit on their side.
